This week a public consultation meeting was held for 2908 Yonge St. The applicant is proposing to build a 13-storey mixed use building on the gas station site at the corner of Yonge St. and Chatsworth Dr. At the public meeting, I made it very clear that I am adamantly opposed to this proposal. Local residents agreed that this application represents an over-densification of the site which should be closer to 7-storeys in height. Another serious concern is that the applicant is not providing nearly enough parking for residential or commercial uses on site and does not have a concrete plan to deal with the impact that this added traffic will have on area residents. I want to thank area residents for attending and sharing their views on this proposal. We need to work together to ensure that we end up with development that is responsible and works for our neighbourhood.
