Many residents have contacted me over the last year to get information and provide their feedback on the noise bylaw review taking place in the City of Toronto. The City’s Municipal Licensing & Standards division has been consulting with the public over the last few months and presented various recommendations to the Committee on January 22 and May 19, 2016.
The Committee recommended that staff go back to do further consultation with representatives from the Toronto Noise Coalition, Resident’s Associations, construction and entertainment business associations, BIA’s, and other relevant stakeholders, and report back on September 21, 2016. I look forward to seeing what comes out of these consultations and hope to see an improved bylaw that works.
For more information on what was most recently recommended and what staff have learned through the public consultations to date, please see the Staff Report from May 5, 2016.
