Working with Allenby School to make our school zones safer

Last week, I was able to spend some time with the Principal of Allenby School, Tracey O’Toole, and some of her grade 5 students. We worked with Toronto Police Services to get drivers to slow down on Avenue Rd. In less than one hour of radar enforcement, we were able to pull over 30 vehicles. Some of these drivers were caught going between 70-75km/hr in the 40km/hr school zone so I am looking forward to the roll out of electronic radar enforcement. In the meantime, we will continue to work with Allenby School and our Transportation Services Division in order to come up with more innovative ways to bring attention to the issue and make our school zones safer.
